I think the term fiction novels comprises more fully what is allowed in this exchange (by explicitly excusing non-fiction novels), and believe that prose fiction may confuse people who may try to request poetry (which is also not a part of this exchange). The definition may not be perfect, but I believe it will be the one we use.
