But ... "novel" literally means "book-length fictional work". If something is non-fiction, it’s not a novel.. And I sure hope people wouldn’t request poetry in a "prose" exchange, since "prose" literally means "not poetry." (Google/the OED: "written or spoken language in its ordinary form, without metrical structure.") I’m honestly so confused now.
It’s your exchange, and you can do what you want, but "fiction novel" is both redundant and actively excludes shorter formats like novellas, which you’ve said you’ll allow. (I didn’t mean to suggest that you actually use "prose fiction," but it ... accurately describes what you say you want to include. It even excludes so-called/inaccurately termed "non-fiction novels.")
I guess it doesn’t really matter for this, as long as your participants understand what you mean. Sorry to have bugged you.
